Network for the Data Protection Officers of National Law Enforcement competent authorities, Justice and Home Affairs agencies and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office

The DPO Network is an initiative aiming to facilitate the exchange of information between Data Protection Officers (DPOs) of the national law enforcement authorities on the practical application of the Data Protection Law Enforcement Directive (EU) 2016/680 (LED).

About the Network

On 20 July 2020, following a request of individual DPOs of law enforcement authorities, the European Commission established the Network for the Data Protection Officers of competent authorities, Justice and Home Affairs agencies and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, with the Commission in a facilitating and supporting role. The DPO Network’s objective is to serve as a platform between practitioners for sharing knowledge and exchanging on challenges and good practices on the application of the Law Enforcement Directive (LED).

DPO Network members

Meetings

Meetings take place two times per year (January and June session) and they are composed of two parts. The European Commission participates only in the first part, while the second part is held exclusively among DPOs, without the presence of the Commission representatives.
